For those beekeepers who were in the path of Typhoon Yolanda it was mostly a total loss. Stacks of 10 frame Langstroths deeps were easily tipped over by the wind. Time to rethink the hive used in the Philippines. It needs to be stable in high wind.

2 x 15 frame Langstroths are very stable compared to 3 x 10 frame Langstroths.

1 x 30 frame Langstroth is even better but lacks portability. For a fixed bee yard it is perfect.

I have decided to go ahead with 15 and 30 frame deep boxes for the future.
